Amatl Installation
Amatl Installations. "Amatl" is the "Nahua" name for bark paper used by the Pre-Hispanic natives of Mesoamerica. The paper dates back to the Mayans. It is made in the village of San Pablito in the state of Puebla in Mexico. The colors are natural pre-Hispanic colors made out of flowers, plants, and insects, in the same way as the natives created them.
